About the event
Joining the conversation this week will be Rev. Jamaine Tucker, Rev. Linda Powell, Rev. Kylan Pew, Rev. Vincent Jones, my seminary colleague Alisa Castilla and you. This panel represents a cross-section of faith traditions and ages relevant to our discussion which should provide for well-rounded insight into our topic.
This conversation will have two movements:
First, many of us have heard the saying, "don't lose your faith in seminary". That seems so counter-intuitive but it is a reality. We will chat about challenging experiences with faith issues and how faith was expanded or lost during the seminary experience.
Secondly, we will discuss bridging the gap between seminary and our local places of worship. The wealth of knowledge and understanding that is available that never makes it to the church. What are the hindrances and what are some of the topics/concepts that our local faith leaders are dealing with and desire to share.
